The 6th annual South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA 2016) flagged off in a grand style at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore yesterday. This two-day festival celebrated the best of Telugu Kannada films on its first day, with Tamil and Malayalam movies left to be honoured today.
This event is a very popular film awards show in south India which enjoys over 50% television reach across the region. SIIMA 2016 will see over 100 leading stars from across south India and will have a grand line up of 12 performances spread over two days by Anirudh Ravichander, Yash, Rakul Preet Singh, Sudheer Babu, Huma Qureshi, Usha Uthup, Neeraj Madhav, Aishwarya Rajesh, Devika, Regina and many more.
The SIIMA awards are assessed by viewers and fans from the world over, through a unique voting mechanism. The award show has completed four successful editions.

Baahubali The Beginning stands No:1 at SIIMA Awards
SS Rajamouli’s “Baahubali: The Beginning” and Mahesh Babu’s “Srimanthudu” topped the list of Telugu movie nominations at SIIMA (South Indian International Movie Awards) 2016.
The organisers of SIIMA had hinted about the nominations on its official Facebook page on May 18. They wrote, “Stay Tuned #SIIMA2016 Nominations Coming Soon….” They announced the nomination list for four languages — Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam — on May 24. Later, they posted on Facebook, “#SIIMA2016Nominations begin tomorrow… Stay tuned. #Singapore.”
The SIIMA 2016 function will be a two-day event, which will be held in Singapore on June 30 and July 1. Many celebrities are expected to attend the event and perform on the occasion. The organisers have confirmed that Hansika Motwani and Anirudh Ravichander will be performing live at SIIMA 2016 in Singapore.
