All 61 people on board to Fly Dubai plane are thought to have perished after the Boeing 800-737 went down close to the city’s airport in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Flydubai flight FZ981 had travelled from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates to Rostov-on-Don, with 55 passengers and six crew members aboard, the Associated Press is reporting. Four children were also thought to be travelling on the plane.
At this point there is no indication any Australians were on the flight.
Reports suggest most of the passengers were Russian while 11 on board, including the crew, consisted of nationals from other countries.

“During the landing approach a Boeing-737 crashed. It had 55 passengers on board. All of them died,” a regional spokesman told new agency TASS.
Russian Government Responce
“We are doing all we can to gather information as quickly as possible. At this moment our thoughts and prayers are with our passengers and our crew who were on board the Aircraft.
“We are putting our emergency response in place and we will be working closely with all the authorities involved,” the statement said by Russian Government.
Aircraft Airlines Being also released a statement that said they were “gathering more details” on the incident.

“Unfortunately, they all died,” Viktor Yanutsenko, an emergencies ministry official helping coordinate the emergency response, was quoted as saying by Russia’s RIA news agency.
“The plane is broken, debris strewn over the landing strip,” a spokesperson for the southern regional center of the Emergency Situations Ministry said.
Flydubai said in a statement that “we are aware of an incident involving our flight FZ981 from Dubai to Rostov On Don” but it was still gathering details.
